South Carolina Registered Importers and Exporters of Controlled Substance are companies that are registered with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DEC) to bring in or ship out controlled substances that are regulated by the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). These substances are regulated due to their potential for abuse and misuse. Examples of controlled substances include narcotics, stimulants, depressants, hallucinogens, and anabolic steroids. The two types of South Carolina Registered Importers and Exporters of Controlled Substance are importers and exporters. Importers are entities that bring controlled substances into the state for distribution and sale. Exporters are entities that ship controlled substances out of the state for use in other jurisdictions. Both importers and exporters must follow all applicable state and federal regulations and must be properly registered with the DEC.
