The South Carolina Fictitious Name Form (Adoption of A Fictitious Name Corporation-Foreign) is a legal document used by foreign corporations that are adopting a fictitious name in the state of South Carolina. This document includes the foreign corporation's name, its state of incorporation, its purpose, and the assumed name it wishes to use in South Carolina. The form must be signed by the president, vice president, treasurer, or other officer authorized by the foreign corporation. Once filed with the South Carolina Secretary of State and approved, the foreign corporation will be able to conduct business in the state under its assumed name. There are two types of South Carolina Fictitious Name Forms (Adoption of A Fictitious Name Corporation-Foreign): a Regular Domestic Fictitious Name Form and an Amendment to an Existing Fictitious Name Form. The Regular Domestic Fictitious Name Form is used when a foreign corporation is initially adopting a fictitious name in the state. The Amendment to An Existing Fictitious Name Form is used when a foreign corporation is making changes to an existing fictitious name.
