South Carolina ASAP Sites are Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (ASAP) sites that provide education and intervention services to individuals who are at risk for, or have been convicted of, alcohol and/or drug-related offenses. ASAP sites are funded by the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, and are designed to reduce the number of alcohol and drug-related offenses in the state. They are typically located in counties with high rates of alcohol and drug-related offenses or in areas where there is a need for additional treatment services. There are three types of South Carolina ASAP Sites: Outpatient Treatment Centers, Intervention Centers, and DUI/Drug Education Programs. Outpatient Treatment Centers provide comprehensive alcohol and drug abuse treatment to individuals with substance use disorders on an outpatient basis. Intervention Centers provide assessment, education, and referral services to individuals at risk for alcohol and drug-related offenses. Finally, DUI/Drug Education Programs provide educational services to individuals who have been convicted of DUI/Drug-related offenses.
