South Carolina Affidavit is a sworn statement or declaration of a fact, made in writing and signed by the affine in the presence of a notary public or other authorized official. It is used to provide proof of certain facts and can be used to authenticate signatures or documents. There are three types of South Carolina Affidavits: Affidavit of Parentage or Support, Affidavit of Death, and Affidavit of Service. An Affidavit of Parentage or Support is used to establish a parent-child relationship, set forth who will be financially responsible for the child, and provide other information about the child. An Affidavit of Death is used to prove that a person has died and lists the date and place of death, the identity of the deceased, and other facts related to the death. Finally, an Affidavit of Service is used to verify that a document has been served on another person or entity.
