South Carolina Court Order Restriction of Driving Privileges — Tobacco Prevention Ac— - Minor is a law that restricts the driving privileges of minors who have been convicted of a tobacco-related offense. This law applies to minors under the age of 18 who have been found guilty of the following offenses: possession, purchase, or distribution of tobacco products; possession, purchase, or distribution of any device or material used to facilitate tobacco use; or violation of any local ordinance that regulates the possession or use of tobacco products by minors. The court order restricts the minor's driving privileges for a period of six months, and requires the minor to complete an approved tobacco-related education program before their license is reinstated. There are three types of South Carolina Court Order Restriction of Driving Privileges — Tobacco Prevention Ac— - Minor: First Offense, Second Offense, and Third Offense. First Offense requires the minor to attend an approved tobacco-related education program and have their license suspended for six months. Second Offense requires the minor to attend an approved tobacco-related education program, have their license suspended for one year, and pay a fine of up to $500. Third Offense requires the minor to attend an approved tobacco-related education program, have their license suspended for two years, and pay a fine of up to $500.
