Tennessee Order of Protection Modify or Extend is an order issued by a Tennessee court that modifies or extends a previously issued order of protection. This type of order is typically issued in cases where the initial order of protection has expired, or when the protected individual wishes to modify or extend the existing order. There are two types of Tennessee Order of Protection Modify or Extend: (1) Modify Order of Protection and (2) Extend Order of Protection. Modify Order of Protection: This type of order is issued when the protected individual wishes to modify the terms of the original order of protection. This could include modifying the restrictions placed on the respondent, such as prohibiting contact or requiring the respondent to stay away from the protected individual's home, workplace, or school. Extend Order of Protection: This type of order is issued when the protected individual wishes to extend the duration of the original order of protection. This could include extending the order for an additional period of time, such as 6 months, 1 year, or longer. Both of these types of orders must be filed with the court and served on the respondent before they can become effective. The court may also require a hearing before issuing a modified or extended order of protection.
