The Tennessee Petition to Modify Support Order and/or Wage Assignment is a legal document used by individuals in the state of Tennessee to request a change to an existing order for child support or alimony. This petition can be used to modify either the amount ordered for support payments or the withholding of wages from the mayor. There are three types of Tennessee Petition to Modify Support Order and/or Wage Assignment: (1) Petition for Modification of Child Support Order; (2) Petition for Modification of Alimony Order; and (3) Petition for Modification of Wage Assignment. These petitions must be filed in the court where the original support order or wage assignment was issued. The filing party must provide detailed information regarding the reasons why the modification is being requested and why the current order should be changed. The court may require additional information or documents to support the petition.
