A Tennessee Order to Allow Substitute of Counsel is a court order issued to allow a different lawyer to substitute for a lawyer who is no longer able to represent a client in a legal proceeding. This order is typically issued when the original lawyer withdraws from the case for any reason, such as death, disability, conflict of interest, or conflict with the client. There are two types of Tennessee Order to Allow Substitute of Counsel: an Order for Substitution of Counsel and an Order to Allow Substitution of Counsel. An Order for Substitution of Counsel is used when a new lawyer is appointed to represent the client in place of the original lawyer. An Order to Allow Substitution of Counsel is used when the original lawyer has asked to be relieved from the case, but a new lawyer has not yet been appointed.
