The Tennessee Conservator Election of Accounting Year is an annual event in which Tennessee conservators are elected by the local probate court. The election is to determine who will oversee and manage the financial affairs of individuals who are no longer able to do so on their own. The election is open to any qualified person who is legally qualified to manage the financial interests of the conservative. The Conservator Election of Accounting Year is held in the fall of each year and is administered by the Probate Division of the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance. During the election, the court will hear petitions from potential conservators and review their qualifications before making a decision. Once a conservator has been selected, they will be responsible for managing the conservative’s assets and financial affairs. There are two types of Tennessee Conservator Election of Accounting Year: statutory conservatorship and court-appointed conservatorship. Statutory conservatorship is established by the probate court when a conservator is appointed to manage the financial interests of an incapacitated person. Court-appointed conservatorship is established when the court appoints a conservator to manage the financial interests of an individual who is unable to manage their own affairs due to age, mental incapacity, or physical disability.
