Tennessee Complaint Against Judge Under Code of Judicial Conduct is a formal complaint filed with the Board of Judicial Conduct by a citizen who alleges that a judge has violated the rules of judicial conduct. The complaint is submitted to the Board in writing and must include specific details about the alleged improper conduct. The Board reviews the complaint to determine if it has merit and, if so, forwards the complaint to the judge for response. If the Board finds that the allegations are true, the judge may be subject to sanctions including suspension, reprimand or removal from office. There are three different types of Tennessee Complaint Against Judge Under Code of Judicial Conduct: 1) Complaints based on violations of the code of judicial conduct; 2) Complaints based on violation of the Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct; and 3) Complaints based on violation of the Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure.
