The county seat is Franklin, while the largest city is Brentwood. Tennessee Williamson County is home to several school districts, including the Williamson County Schools, the Franklin Special School District, and the Brentwood Academy. It is also home to numerous higher education institutions, such as Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, and Columbia State Community College.
