Tennessee Health Insurance Notice for Divorcing Spouses is a notice that informs divorcing spouses in Tennessee of their rights and responsibilities regarding health insurance coverage. It is required by the state in accordance with Tennessee Code Annotated §36-6-411. There are two types of Tennessee Health Insurance Notice for Divorcing Spouses: (1) the Spouse's Notice of Right to Continue Health Insurance Coverage and (2) the Spouse's Notice of Right to Purchase Health Insurance Coverage. The Spouse's Notice of Right to Continue Health Insurance Coverage informs the spouse that they have the right to continue their health insurance coverage for up to three years after the divorce, as long as they comply with the terms and conditions of their health insurance plan. The Spouse's Notice of Right to Purchase Health Insurance Coverage informs the spouse that they have the right to purchase health insurance coverage for up to three years after the divorce, as long as they can afford it and comply with the terms and conditions of the health insurance plan. Both notices provide information about the spouse's rights and responsibilities regarding health insurance coverage, including details about the cost of coverage and the length of coverage.
