Description Terminate Lease Landlord

This form is for use by a Tenant to terminate a week-to-week residential lease. "Residential" includes a house, apartment or condo. Unless a written agreement provides otherwise, the Tenant does not have to have a reason for terminating the Lease in this manner, other than a desire to end the lease. A week-to-week lease is one which continues from week-to-week unless either party chooses to terminate. Unless a written agreement provides for a longer notice, 7 days notice is required prior to termination in this state. The notice must be given to the Landlord within at least 7 days prior to the termination date. The form indicates that the Tenant has chosen to terminate the lease, and states the date the Tenant will vacate the premises. For additional information, see the Law Summary link.

Lease Tenant Form FAQ

A termination notice has to give the tenant 14 clear days before the tenant has to leave the residential premises. The day the notice is served on the tenant and the day the tenant moves out do not count as part of the 14 days.

Since it is a registered lease deed it can be cancelled through a registered cancellation deed. The cancellation has to be bilateral. The tenant should personally sign the cancellation deed which you can then present for registration in the office of the sub-registrar.

Notice to Vacate The amount of time the tenant has to move out or fix a certain problem before an eviction suit is filed. This must be at least 3 days unless the lease specifically states otherwise.

Dear (Name of landlord or manager), This letter constitutes my written (number of days' notice that you need to give based on your lease agreement)-day notice that I will be moving out of my apartment on (date), the end of my current lease. I am leaving because (new job, rent increase, etc.)

A landlord can simply give you a written notice to move, allowing you one month as required by Texas law and specifying the date on which your tenancy will end. However, the landlord and tenant may agree in writing to different notice periods, or none at all.

Your name, and the landlord's name and address. The date you're writing the letter. Informing the landlord you're breaking your lease early. The reason why you're breaking your lease. The building and apartment you're vacating. The date by which you're vacating.

At-will tenancy is subject to the will of both the tenant and the landlord (hence the name). In other words, the tenant can choose to leave and stop paying rent at any time, and the landlord can choose to stop accepting rent and ask the tenant to leave at any time.

Dear Name of Apartment Manager, 200bI am writing you to let you know that I will be vacating the premises that I'm currently occupying at Current Address. My lease expires on Date, but it's necessary that I vacate earlier due to job relocation. I intend to vacate my apartment by Date.

Dear your landlord or property manager's name, I am writing to inform you I will be vacating my rental unit on date you intend to vacate. This letter meets the 30-day notice requirement outlined in my lease agreement.
