Texas Motion and Order to Appear Pro HAC Vice (Main Case) is a legal document used to allow an attorney from outside of Texas to represent a client in a state court. The motion is filed by the attorney seeking to appear pro HAC vice and must be approved by the presiding judge of the court to which the motion is filed. The motion must include a statement of the attorney’s qualifications to practice law in the state in which they are licensed, a statement of the facts in the case, and a statement of the reasons why the attorney should be allowed to practice in the Texas court. If approved, the order will allow the attorney to practice in the court for the duration of the case. There are two types of Texas Motion and Order to Appear Pro HAC Vice (Main Case): 1) Limited Pro HAC Vice Motion and Order, which grants the lawyer limited authority to practice in the court; and 2) General Pro HAC Vice Motion and Order, which grants the lawyer full authority to practice in the court.
