Texas Licensee Request for Qualifying Credit (QC) is a program that allows certain Texas licensees to request a qualifying credit against their annual continuing education requirements. The purpose of the program is to recognize the professional development activities of licensees that are not typically offered as continuing education courses. The QC program is available to all licensees of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and the Texas Real Estate Commission. There are two types of Texas Licensee Request for Qualifying Credit: Standard and Specialized. Standard QC requests are for activities that are related to the licensee’s profession, and that have been approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or the Texas Real Estate Commission. These activities can include workshops, seminars, conferences, classes, and other professional development activities. Specialized QC requests are for activities that are related to the licensee’s profession, but that are not approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or the Texas Real Estate Commission. These activities can include specialized training courses, certification programs, and other activities that are not approved by the board. In order to be eligible for the QC program, the licensee must meet certain requirements. These requirements include a minimum number of hours of training, a minimum number of hours related to the licensee’s profession, and a minimum number of hours of continuing education related to the licensee’s profession. The Texas Licensee Request for Qualifying Credit program is designed to help Texas licensees meet their continuing education requirements and to recognize their professional development activities.
