Texas Large Employer Carrier Status Certification is a certification program administered by the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI). This program is designed to help employers in the state of Texas comply with the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The certification provides employers with the information and resources needed to help them meet the ACA's requirements for providing health insurance to their employees. The certification is available in two main types: Group and Individual. Group Certification applies to employers with 50 or more employees, while Individual Certification applies to employers with fewer than 50 employees. For Group Certification, employers must file an application for certification with the TDI and submit documentation of their employees’ health insurance coverage. For Individual Certification, employers must provide proof of coverage for each employee and submit a signed affidavit. Once employers have met the requirements for certification, they will be recognized as a Texas Large Employer Carrier and will be eligible for a variety of benefits, including tax credits, lower premiums, and other incentives.
