The Texas Financial Disclosure Report Request is a document used to obtain financial information from public officials and certain public employees in the state of Texas. There are two types of Texas Financial Disclosure Report Request, one for elected officials and state agency heads, and one for other state public employees. The elected officials and state agency heads are required to provide information regarding their financial interests, such as their income, investments, business interests, and real estate holdings. This information must be filed annually with the Texas Ethics Commission. The other state public employees must disclose information about their outside employment, income, investments, and certain gifts, which must be filed annually with the Texas Ethics Commission. Both the elected officials and state public employees are subject to penalties if they fail to complete and submit the Texas Financial Disclosure Report Request in a timely manner.
