A Notice of Rejected Bid is a written communication from a purchasing entity to a bidder informing them that their bid has been rejected. It is usually sent after a competitive bidding process has been completed and the purchasing entity has decided to select another bidder’s proposal. Depending on the situation, there are two types of Notice of Rejected Bid: Qualified Bid Rejection Notice and Unqualified Bid Rejection Notice. A Qualified Bid Rejection Notice is sent when a bidder's proposal meets all the requirements specified by the purchasing entity but is not chosen for the contract. The notice usually includes the reasons why the bid was rejected, such as the bid was higher than the maximum amount that the purchasing entity was able to pay or the bid was not in line with the purchasing entity's goals and objectives. An Unqualified Bid Rejection Notice is sent when a bidder's proposal does not meet all the requirements specified by the purchasing entity. This type of notice typically includes information as to why the bid was deemed unqualified, such as the bid was incomplete or was not received within the specified deadline. Both types of Notice of Rejected Bid will include information about the purchasing entity's decision and the reasons for the rejection.
