Conspiracy — Mental States is a psychological concept used to describe the effects of conspiracy theories on a person's mental health. It includes the idea that believing in conspiracy theories can lead to changes in a person's thought processes, emotions, and behavior. There are two main types of Conspiracy — Mental States: Paranoid Ideation and Cognitive Distortion. Paranoid Ideation is characterized by an irrational belief that the world is out to get them, and that everyone is conspiring against them. Cognitive Distortion is characterized by an irrational belief that certain events are connected in a meaningful way, even when there is no evidence to support the connection. These two forms of Conspiracy — Mental States can lead to anxiety, fear, paranoia, and a distorted perception of reality.
