A Basic Sales Representative Agreement is a contract between a company and an independent sales representative who is hired to promote and sell the company's products or services. This agreement outlines the terms of the relationship, including the sales representative's duties, compensation, duration of the agreement, rights and obligations of both parties, and any other relevant information. There are two main types of Basic Sales Representative Agreement: Exclusive and Non-Exclusive. An Exclusive Sales Representative Agreement grants the sales representative exclusive rights to promote and sell the company's products or services in a given geographical area. Under this agreement, the company cannot hire any other representatives to sell in the same area. Non-Exclusive Sales Representative Agreement grants the representative the right to represent the company in a given geographical area, but it does not grant the representative exclusive rights to sell in that area. The company may hire other representatives to sell in the same area.
