18 U.S.C. Sec. 1029(E)(6) Definition of "Device-Making Equipment" refers to the equipment used to create devices, such as tools, hardware, and software, that are used to manufacture a device. This includes, but is not limited to, tools used to program, store, or manipulate data, such as computers, printers, routers, and modems; hardware and software used to design, manufacture, or assemble a device; and machines used to cut, shape, or form a device. Types of device-making equipment include, but are not limited to, 3D printers, milling machines, laser cutters, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
