8.71 Firearms-Using, Carrying, or Brandishing in Commission of Crime of Violence or Drug Trafficking Crime (18 U.S.C. Sec. 924(c)) is a federal law that prohibits the use, carrying, or brandishing of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence or drug trafficking crime. This law applies to any person who uses, carries, or brandishes a firearm in furtherance of any such offense. This law is also known as the Armed Career Criminal Act (CCA).
