A Utah Notice of Claim by Corporation is a document that a legal entity, such as a corporation, must file with the Utah Department of Commerce in order to alert the state of a potential claim or dispute. The purpose of filing the notice is to alert the state of a potential claim or dispute before the corporation takes any legal action. This document is also sometimes referred to as a “notice of dispute” or “notice of claim.” There are two types of Utah Notice of Claim by Corporation: one for a claim against the state or a claim by the state, and one for a dispute between two corporations or two legal entities. In both cases, the notice must include the legal name and address of the corporation filing the notice, the name and address of the opposing party, a brief description of the claim or dispute, the amount in dispute, and the date the claim or dispute arose. The notice must be signed by a corporate officer and filed with the Utah Department of Commerce within 60 days of the date the claim or dispute arose.A Utah Notice of Claim by Corporation is a document that a legal entity, such as a corporation, must file with the Utah Department of Commerce in order to alert the state of a potential claim or dispute.
