Utah Pedestrian signals are a type of traffic signal used to regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic in the state of Utah. These signals are designed to alert pedestrians when it is safe to cross the street, as well as when they should not cross. There are two types of Utah Pedestrian signals: the Walk/Don't Walk signal and the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon. The Walk/Don't Walk signal is a traditional signal usually found at intersections, which displays a green "walk" signal when it is safe for pedestrians to cross, and a red "don't walk" signal when they should not cross. The Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon is a newer type of signal which is typically used in areas with high pedestrian traffic, such as school zones and busy intersections. This type of signal consists of two flashing yellow lights that indicate when it is safe to cross, followed by two solid red lights that indicate when pedestrians should not cross.
