Utah Articles/Statement of Correction is an official document of the state of Utah used to correct errors in a document such as a deed, deed of trust, or lien. It is a legal document that is used to amend or correct errors that were made in the original document. There are two types of Utah Articles/Statement of Correction: Regular Articles of Correction and Special Articles of Correction. Regular Articles of Correction are used to amend errors such as an incorrect date, wrong legal description, incorrect ownership, or transfer of title. Special Articles of Correction are used to correct errors such as an incorrect deed type, a name change or a legal description. Both types of Articles/Statement of Correction must be signed and notarized in order to be valid.
