The Utah UCC Affidavit is a document used to acknowledge the existence of a secured transaction in Utah. It is a sworn statement that is used to put creditors on notice that the debtor has established a security interest in the collateral. This document is a requirement of the Utah Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and must be filed with the Utah Division of Corporations. There are four types of Utah UCC Affidavit available: UCC-1 Financing Statement, UCC-3 Amendment to UCC-1 Financing Statement, UCC-11 Information Statement, and UCC-12 Continuation Statement. The UCC-1 Financing Statement is used to create a security interest in personal or real property in Utah. The UCC-3 Amendment is used to modify or correct a previously filed UCC-1. The UCC-11 Information Statement is filed to provide additional information about a UCC-1 or UCC-3 filing. The UCC-12 Continuation Statement is filed to extend the effectiveness of a UCC-1 Financing Statement.
