The Utah Special Certificate from BCI (Bureau of Criminal Identification) is a document issued to qualified individuals who have been approved to provide certain services in the state of Utah. These services can include security guard services, private investigator services, or process serving services. There are three types of Utah Special Certificates from BCI: Security Guard, Private Investigator, and Process Server. Security Guard Special Certificate: The Security Guard Special Certificate requires an applicant to be at least 18 years old, have a valid Utah driver's license, and have no felony convictions or major misdemeanor convictions. Applicants must also complete 32 hours of training, as well as pass a written exam and a background check. Private Investigator Special Certificate: The Private Investigator Special Certificate requires an applicant to be at least 21 years old, have at least two years of experience in investigations, and have no felony convictions or major misdemeanor convictions. Applicants must also complete a training course and pass an examination. Process Server Special Certificate: The Process Server Special Certificate requires an applicant to be at least 18 years old, have a valid Utah driver's license, and have no felony convictions or major misdemeanor convictions.
