Utah Victim's Statement (US) is a form used to record the voice of a crime victim in the state of Utah. It is designed to give victims an opportunity to provide input during the criminal justice process. US can be requested by victims during the investigation of the crime, at the pre-sentencing hearing, or at the parole hearing. There are three types of US: 1. Investigative US: This statement is used to inform the investigator of the crime about the facts of the case from the victim's perspective. 2. Pre-sentence US: This statement is used to provide input to the court before sentencing is determined. 3. Parole US: This statement is used to provide input to the parole board when deciding whether to release an offender from prison. US can help victims to gain a sense of control and to have their voice heard during the criminal justice process.
