Utah Response by APP is a set of services and programs provided by the Utah Department of Corrections Adult Probation and Parole (APP). It is designed to help offenders successfully transition back into society following incarceration, while also providing resources to help prevent future criminal activity. It includes services such as: • Intensive Supervision: Offenders are provided with intensive supervision and case management by APP officers, including frequent contact, curfew checks, and drug/alcohol testing. • Re-entry Planning: Offenders are provided with a re-entry plan that includes assistance with housing, employment, education, and other needed services. • Substance Abuse Treatment: Offenders are provided with access to substance abuse treatment, including residential treatment, outpatient treatment, and in-prison treatment. • Mental Health Services: Offenders are provided with access to mental health services, including individual and group therapy and medication management. • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Offenders are provided with access to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help them learn new skills and behaviors to reduce criminal thinking and behavior. • Life Skills Training: Offenders are provided with life skills training to help them develop skills needed to lead a law-abiding life. • Employment Services: Offenders are provided with access to employment services, including job training, job placement, and job retention services. • Education Services: Offenders are provided with access to educational services, including GED classes, college courses, and vocational training. • Family Services: Offenders are provided with access to family services, including parenting classes, family therapy, and family reunification. • Victim Services: Offenders are provided with access to victim services, including victim impact classes and restitution payments.
