The Utah Notice of Right to Object to Motion to Change Reporting Period (Adult) is a form that must be filed by an adult defendant in response to a motion by the court to change the reporting period of the defendant’s probation or parole. This form is used when the defendant believes that the proposed change to his or her reporting period is unjust or would cause undue hardship. The form must be filed within 14 days of the date the motion was served, and must be signed by the defendant or the defendant’s attorney. There are two types of Utah Notice of Right to Object to Motion to Change Reporting Period (Adult): 1) the Regular Notice of Right to Object; and 2) the Expedited Notice of Right to Object. The Regular Notice of Right to Object provides the defendant with an opportunity to present evidence and argument to the court as to why the proposed change should not be implemented. The Expedited Notice of Right to Object allows the defendant to submit a written statement of objection without appearing in court.
