Virginia Notice of Bond Appeal is a form used by a defendant in a criminal case in the state of Virginia to request a bond review hearing. The Notice must be filed with the court in order to request a hearing before a judge to review the bond conditions set by the court. The Notice must include the defendant's name, birthdate, address, and any relevant information about the case. There are two types of Virginia Notice of Bond Appeal: a motion to modify bond and a motion to reduce bond. A motion to modify bond seeks to alter the existing bond conditions, such as changing the amount of the bond, adding or removing restrictions on the defendant's activities, or changing the type of bond. A motion to reduce bond seeks to reduce the bond amount or eliminate the bond requirement altogether. Both requests must be made in writing and include sufficient facts and legal arguments to support the request.
