The Virginia Application for Appointment of Special Conservator of the Peace (STOP) is a form used by individuals to request the appointment of a special conservator of the peace in the state of Virginia. A special conservator of the peace (STOP) is a person legally appointed by a judge to enforce the peace and maintain order in a designated area. The application must be completed and filed with the circuit court of the county or city where the applicant resides. The application must include the applicant's name, address, phone number, and Social Security number, as well as the reason the applicant is requesting the appointment of a STOP. Once the application is completed, it must be signed by the applicant and notarized before being submitted to the court. There are two types of Virginia Application for Appointment of Special Conservator of the Peace: one for use in counties and one for use in cities.
