The Virginia Uniform Franchise Consent to Service of Process is a form that must be filed with the Virginia State Corporation Commission in order to grant permission for an out-of-state corporation to conduct business in Virginia. The form grants the Virginia State Corporation Commission the authority to accept service of legal process on behalf of the out-of-state corporation. This form must be completed by an authorized agent of the out-of-state corporation and filed with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. There are two types of Virginia Uniform Franchise Consent to Service of Process: the Individual Franchise Consent to Service of Process and the Corporate Franchise Consent to Service of Process. The Individual Franchise Consent to Service of Process is for an individual who has been designated as a registered agent for a corporation in Virginia. The Corporate Franchise Consent to Service of Process is for a corporation registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. Both forms require the registered agent of the out-of-state corporation to provide a valid address and contact information so that legal process may be served on the corporation.
