Virginia Uniform Consent to Service of Process is a form that allows an individual or organization to designate an agent to receive legal documents (such as a summons, subpoena, or other court notice) on their behalf. By submitting this form, the individual or organization is waiving their right to be personally served and instead authorizing the designated agent to receive the documents. There are two types of Virginia Uniform Consent to Service of Process: (1) Consent to Service of Process by Registered Agent/Office and (2) Consent to Service of Process by Non-Registered Agent. The Consent to Service of Process by Registered Agent/Office requires the designated agent to be registered with the Virginia State Corporation Commission in order to accept service of process. The Consent to Service of Process by Non-Registered Agent does not require registration and allows the designated agent to accept service of process without registering with the Virginia State Corporation Commission.
