Vermont Petition For Wage Withholding (Support Order Issued On Or After 7-1-90) is a legal document that allows an employer to deduct an employee’s wages to cover unpaid child support and/or spousal support as ordered by a court. The petition must be completed and signed by the employer and submitted to the court. The court will then issue a wage withholding order to the employer, which will require the employer to deduct the money from the employee’s wages and send it to the court or the Vermont Department of Children and Families. There are two types of Vermont Petition For Wage Withholding: one for a current support order issued on or after 7-1-90, and one for a prior support order issued before 7-1-90.
