A Vermont Notice of Violation (Minors Misrepresenting Age, Procuring, Possessing or Consuming Liquors and/or Marijuana) is a document issued by the Vermont Department of Liquor Control to minors who are found to be in violation of the state’s laws regarding alcohol and marijuana consumption. The Notice of Violation is given to minors who misrepresent their age in order to buy, procure, possess, or consume alcohol and/or marijuana. There are four types of violations that may be subject to a Vermont Notice of Violation: 1. Misrepresentation of Age: A minor who falsifies their age in order to purchase, possess, or consume alcohol and/or marijuana can be given a Notice of Violation. 2. Procuring Alcohol/Marijuana: A minor who assists or attempts to assist another minor in purchasing, possessing, or consuming alcohol and/or marijuana can be given a Notice of Violation. 3. Possessing Alcohol/Marijuana: A minor who is found to have alcohol or marijuana in their possession can be given a Notice of Violation. 4. Consuming Alcohol/Marijuana: A minor who is found to have consumed alcohol or marijuana can be given a Notice of Violation. The Vermont Notice of Violation includes information about the minor's violation, including the date, time, location, and description of the violation. It also includes the minor's name, date of birth, address, and contact information. The Notice of Violation also includes information about the penalties that the minor faces, including possible fines, community service, and possible suspension of their driver’s license.
