The Vermont Agreement to Enter into PC is a set of guidelines established by the Vermont Department of Financial Regulation to ensure that consumers and businesses in the state of Vermont are protected from unfair and deceptive practices in the sale and servicing of personal computers (PCs). There are two types of Vermont Agreements to Enter into PC: the Standard Agreement and the Special Agreement. The Standard Agreement applies to all retail purchases of PCs in Vermont, and requires that the seller provide a written warranty, provide information regarding technical support, and inform buyers of their rights under the Vermont Consumer Protection Act. The Special Agreement applies to businesses and other entities that purchase PCs in bulk, and requires that the seller provide a written warranty, training for the purchaser's staff, and information regarding the manufacturer's support services. Both agreements also require that the seller offer buyers the opportunity to purchase an extended warranty and that the seller provide buyers with a written copy of the agreement.
