The Vermont Agreement for Temporary Compensation (ATC) is a program designed to provide temporary financial assistance to individuals who experience a period of reduced or lost wages due to illness, injury, or other circumstances. It is administered by the Vermont Department of Labor and is available to eligible workers in the state of Vermont. The agreement provides temporary income replacement benefits for up to 26 weeks, with the potential for an additional 13 weeks in certain circumstances. Benefits are available to workers who are totally or partially disabled as a result of a medical condition, or who are unemployed due to a layoff or other involuntary job loss. There are two types of Vermont Agreement for Temporary Compensation: the Unemployment Insurance Agreement and the Temporary Disability Insurance Agreement. The Unemployment Insurance Agreement provides temporary income replacement benefits for up to 26 weeks to individuals who are unemployed due to a layoff or other involuntary job loss. The Temporary Disability Insurance Agreement provides temporary income replacement benefits for up to 26 weeks to individuals who are totally or partially disabled as a result of a medical condition.
