The Washington Agreement For Individualized Trial And Request For Approval (WAITER) is a legal agreement that allows an accused person to enter into an individualized trial or plea arrangement with the prosecutor. It is an agreement that allows an individual to negotiate a plea bargain with the court and prosecutor. WAITER allows the accused to agree to a trial or plea arrangement that is tailored to the individual's particular circumstances, such as the amount of jail time or other penalties that the accused may face. WAITER also allows an accused to have a defense attorney present during the negotiations. There are two types of WAITER: 1. Individualized Trial Agreement (ITA): This agreement allows an accused to enter a plea bargain with the court and prosecutor in order to avoid going to trial. The accused must agree to a specific sentence or fines in exchange for a reduced jail sentence or other penalties. 2. Request for Approval (RFA): This agreement allows an accused to enter into a plea bargain with the court and prosecutor in order to avoid going to trial. This type of agreement allows the accused to present evidence or other information to the court in order to make a case for why they should be given a reduced sentence or other penalty.
