Washington Petition For Admission To Practice is a legal document that must be filed with the Washington State Supreme Court in order to gain admission to the practice of law in the state of Washington. It is typically filed by a law school graduate who has completed their studies and is ready to join the practice of law. The petition is usually filed after the attorney has passed the Washington Bar Examination and is ready to be admitted to the Bar. There are two types of Washington Petition For Admission To Practice. The first is the Standard Petition, which requires an applicant to provide evidence of their moral character, a law school diploma, a certificate of completion from an approved law school, a copy of the applicant’s bar examination score, and a certificate of completion from the Character and Fitness Committee. The other type is the Limited Admission Petition, which is available to foreign attorneys, non-Washington Bar Exam graduates, and law school graduates who have not yet taken the Bar Exam. This petition requires the same documents as the Standard Petition, but also requires additional documents, such as a foreign law degree transcript, proof of foreign language proficiency, and a certificate of completion from an approved law school’s foreign law program.
