Washington Conditional Admission Petition for Federal Public Defenders is a petition form filed by an attorney seeking admission to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington. This petition enables attorneys who have not yet been admitted to the bar of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington to practice before the court. There are two types of Washington Conditional Admission Petition for Federal Public Defenders: Full Admission and Limited Admission. Full Admission allows the attorney to represent clients in all proceedings before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, including criminal and civil cases, appeals, and habeas corpus proceedings. Limited Admission allows the attorney to represent clients in criminal and habeas corpus proceedings before the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington, but does not authorize the attorney to represent clients in civil proceedings or appeals. In order to be eligible to file a Washington Conditional Admission Petition for Federal Public Defenders, the attorney must have a valid law license in good standing from a state or territory of the United States, and must have taken and passed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam.
