Washington MHC Eligibility Criteria are the guidelines that must be met in order to qualify for Ronald McDonald House Charities (MHC) programs and services in Washington State. The criteria are based on family size, income, and geographic location. There are two types of eligibility criteria: general eligibility criteria and program-specific criteria. General eligibility criteria include a family’s income, family size, and geographic location. For most programs, the family must be living in Washington State and have a gross income that is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Families with larger sizes may be eligible for higher income levels. Program-specific eligibility criteria vary depending on the program. For example, the MHC Scholarship Program requires that applicants demonstrate financial need, volunteerism, and academic achievement. The MHC Family Room Program requires that families have a child who is receiving treatment at a participating medical facility. To apply for MHC programs and services, families must complete an application and submit documentation to verify their eligibility. Acceptable documentation includes a copy of the family’s most recent tax return, pay stubs, and/or bank statements.
