The Washington Declaration of Completion of Guardianship of Minor (WD GCM) is a legal document used to declare that the guardianship of a minor (person under 18 years of age) has been completed in the state of Washington. The document is typically used when an adult guardian has assumed the role of legal guardian for a minor, and has fulfilled all of their duties and responsibilities for the minor. The WD GCM is filed with the court and is used to terminate the legal guardianship. There are two types of WD GCM documents: the WD GCM Without Consent and the WD GCM With Consent. The WD GCM Without Consent is used when the legal guardian of the minor is voluntarily terminating guardianship of the minor without consent from the minor or other involved parties. The WD GCM With Consent is used when all parties involved (including the minor) have agreed to terminate the guardianship. Both documents must be signed by the legal guardian, the minor (if applicable), and any other involved parties. The WD GCM must be approved by the court in order to be valid.
