Washington Personal Care Plan (PCP) is a Medicaid-funded program that provides services to individuals with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities who are 18 years or older. It is designed to help participants remain as independent as possible while receiving the necessary support to live in their own homes. Washington PCP services can include homemaker/personal care services, respite care, attendant care, and therapies. Homemaker/personal care services may include assistance with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, laundry, shopping, and meal preparation. Respite care provides relief for caregivers of individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. Attendant care offers specialized personal care services, such as help with medication management, eating, and dressing, as well as assistance with mobility. Therapies may include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy. Washington PCP is divided into two parts. The Core PCP services are available to all eligible individuals. These services are designed to provide basic assistance with daily living activities. The Enhanced PCP services are available to individuals who require more intensive services due to a more severe disability. These services are designed to provide more specialized assistance with daily living activities. Washington PCP is a valuable program that helps individuals with disabilities achieve a higher quality of life and greater independence.
