Washington Order Approving Personal Care Plan (COACH) is a court order issued by a Washington state court that authorizes the care and services needed for a person with a disability or illness, such as a developmental disability, physical disability, mental illness, or chronic condition. The court order will identify the services the individual needs, the provider of those services, the funding source for the services, and any other relevant information. There are two types of COACH orders: 1. Temporary Orders: These orders are issued when the individual needs immediate access to services, such as in an emergency situation. 2. Permanent Orders: These orders are issued when the individual needs ongoing services and will remain in effect until the individual's needs change. Washington Order Approving Personal Care Plans are used to ensure that individuals with disabilities or illnesses receive the care and services they need in a timely and appropriate manner.
