Washington Periodic Personal Care Plans (Warp) are Medicaid-funded plans created to provide long-term personal care services for eligible individuals in the state of Washington. Wasps are designed to help individuals with functional limitations remain independent in their own homes rather than needing to move into institutional care. Wasps are administered by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services and are offered in three different types: 1. Consumer Directed Warp: This type of Warp allows individuals to directly choose their caregivers and manage their own care plans. 2. Agency Warp: This type of Warp is managed by an approved home care agency that provides services to individuals. 3. Medicaid Waiver Warp: This type of Warp is offered to individuals who are eligible for Medicaid waivers, which provide additional financial assistance for personal care services. Wasps provide a range of services including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, transferring, and toileting; assistance with instrumental activities of daily living (ADLs) such as shopping, meal preparation, and housekeeping; and respite care. Wasps also cover the cost of medical supplies such as ostomy supplies and adult diapers.
