Washington Assignment of Registration of Trademark is a legal document used to transfer the ownership of a trademark between two parties. The document must be filed with the Washington Secretary of State’s Office and includes the details of the transfer, such as the name of the assignor (the individual or company transferring the trademark rights) and the assignee (the individual or company receiving the trademark rights). It must also include a clear description of the trademark being transferred, the date of the transfer, and the consideration (payment) for the transfer. There are two types of Washington Assignment of Registration of Trademark: inter vivos and testamentary. An inter vivos assignment is a transfer of trademark rights made during the lifetime of the assignor. A testamentary assignment is a transfer of trademark rights that is set forth in a will.
