The Washington Temporary Protection Order And Notice of Hearing is a legal document that is issued to protect individuals from physical and/or emotional harm, harassment, or threats of violence. It is issued by a court or a judge and is served to the respondent, who is the person being accused of the harm. The order will remain in effect until a hearing is held where the petitioner (the individual filing the order) and the respondent can present evidence and arguments. If the court finds that the respondent is a threat, the order will be extended or made permanent. There are two types of Washington Temporary Protection Orders And Notices of Hearing: Ex Parte Temporary Protection Orders and Full Hearing Temporary Protection Orders. An Ex Parte Temporary Protection Order is issued without any notice to the respondent and is valid for 14 days. A Full Hearing Temporary Protection Order is issued after a hearing has been held and is valid for up to one year.
