Washington Confidential Information is a type of protected information held by the government of Washington State. It includes sensitive information related to ongoing investigations, legal proceedings, and confidential business or personnel matters. It also includes information related to the health, safety, or welfare of Washington residents. The Washington State Public Records Act (PRA) defines Washington Confidential Information as “information of a personal or commercial nature that is not otherwise available to the public and that the person or agency possessing the information has a reasonable expectation to keep confidential.” This includes information from government files, records, documents, or communications. There are a few different types of Washington Confidential Information.
