A Washington Order Appointing Parenting Evaluator/Investigator is a court order issued by a Washington state court when there is a dispute over custody or parenting time. This order appoints an independent third-party evaluator/investigator to assess the parenting capabilities of each parent and make recommendations regarding custody and/or parenting time. The types of Washington Order Appointing Parenting Evaluator/Investigator include: Parenting Evaluator, Domestic Investigator, and Parenting Plan Evaluator. A Parenting Evaluator assesses the parenting capabilities of each parent and makes recommendations about custody and/or parenting time; a Domestic Investigator collects facts and evidence regarding the issue in dispute; and a Parenting Plan Evaluator reviews existing parenting plans and makes recommendations for adjustments. All of these evaluators/investigators must be approved by the court and must adhere to the Washington state court rules and regulations.
